Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find the answer you are looking for in this page, you can use the contact form to send me a message.
Please, notice that I'm receiving loads of emails, lots of them asking questions I already answered in this F.A.Q., so read them carefully before posting something, thanks :)

How does it work?
We are setting up a big advertisement town. As you see, there are a lot of advertisements, some looking like a carpet, some like a building, etc. etc.
The nice thing is that this is going to last forever. Adalot is a very special place, where you buy an advertisement and it will become art. And, maybe, history.
As a virtual town owner, I'm selling you a virtual building.
You would purchase it, in the same way as you would purchase a real shop or house. Once you paid for it its Your, no monthly fees or rental required.
Your payment is one-off and lasts a lifetime.
Later in time, it will be possible to build custom advertising rooms inside the buildings and to show your ad building through all my website network, but you'll never be asked for any further payment more than for the building itself.
For now, I'm selling you the building and the related link.

Is Adalot different from other advertising systems? Why?
Adalot is unique.
It's much cooler than all other advertisement pages on the web. That's why we are heading to work with elite clients.
Your ads will not only stay forever on the main pages, but in the next future they will be shown continuously in sequence over my whole websites network.

How long will my ad stay in the homepage?
Forever, my friend.
You are not buying a monthly banner on some website, you are buying a piece of history. Your advertisement will stay in the place you selected for it for the whole existence of internet.
Anyway, as we can't predict the far future, we'll give you the warranty that it's going to be online until 2012, whatever will happen.

Can/Must I draw my ads myself?
Yes, you must draw them by yourself. And it's better for you: remember that your ad will be visible forever, so it's in your interest to make it the best-looking you can. My advice is to realize a little pixel art work (a building is usually the best choice).
Anyway, to encourage new users and only until 1th November 2006, we can realize the ad item for you for free.
But this is not the best choice for You, I guess.
Please notice that you will be requested to respect the page style by realizing a decent ad unit respecting the page geometry and adapting to the site appeal. I.E. you can't put a rectangular 2d ad (like the ones on million dollar homepage) in Adalot.
Then, if you manage to build a nice pixel art work, you can put it on your main pages and it will become your true symbol over the internet.
Human mind elaborates 3d visual elements much better than it does with 2d banners.
They are just more impressive, more real.
A cool, unique 3d building, sign or character will represent you much better than your old, big rectangular banner!

How much does it cost?
A single square costs 100$. It's really not much, as they are quite big and, let's say it again, eternal.

Notice that if you are going to create a building or another gif extending itself in highness you will have to buy every ad that it occupies.

Examples:

  →     →
You will require 10 blocks to create a building like this

Take a more detailed look at the method in the Buy Space page.

Can I choose where to place my ads?
Actually you can't. That as Adalot extends itself in wideness, to mantain a decent architecture.
But, in your and our interest, be sure that you'll get the best position available.
You will have the best place available for the ad format you selected.

What will you do with Adalot earnings?
That's a nice question. I will invest about 25% of my earnings in advertisement and maintenance for Adalot.
I really care about this project, I trust in it and I'll enhance it continuously.
Other incomings will be used for me to establish my network activity, and to realize some of my dreams.
